For the ninth consecutive year, the “Sternenhimmel” (Starry Sky) Christmas campaign is taking place in Selm, as there are many families here who are unable to fulfill their children’s Christmas wishes.
To ensure that no child goes without on Christmas Eve, the Caritasverband Lünen-Selm-Werne e.V. charity launched the “Sternenhimmel” campaign again in mid-November. The children affected were allowed to write a Christmas wish worth a maximum of €25 on a golden star. The stars were collected and hung up on November 17 in the “Spielen & Träumen” toy store in Selm.
Anyone who would like to support the campaign and become a wish fulfiller can pick up one of the 400 numbered stars, buy the gift, and return it to the Sandmann family’s store by mid-December, nicely wrapped. The gifts will then be distributed to the children in time for Christmas.
It pays to be quick, as the willingness of Selm’s citizens to help is overwhelming every year and experience shows that the stars are quickly snapped up.
We are very pleased to support the campaign again this year and would like to thank the Caritas Association and the Sandmann family once more for their loving care in organizing it.
