The “Sunshine” youth center is very popular among children and teens in Selm because it not only gives them the chance to spend time together but also allows them to develop their strengths through various classes. Dancing, creative arts and crafts classes, skating — the offerings are diverse. Recently, Sunshine even opened its own recording studio, where young people are creating a podcast for young people called “sunny.cast590.”

This media project not only gives young people a platform to be heard but also strengthens their media literacy as they learn, with the guidance of educational professionals, how a podcast is produced. From the name, logo, music, content, and structure to video and audio editing and publication — they help shape and decide everything down to the smallest detail.

Since a fair amount of technical equipment was still needed to launch the project, Interhydraulik provided Sunshine with the necessary gear and personally handed it over to Christine Ambrosi, the facility’s educational director, and the young people during a visit. The teenager were especially thrilled— so much so that during the visit, they spontaneously recorded a video with Managing Director Claudius Hirsch and marketing representative Daniela Surholt to thank them for the donation.
